Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is employed to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message can be sent from one email, but to look as being sent from a different, typically with the objective to fraud the recipient someway. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, a unique record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers around the world receive it. The record features all email servers that are permitted to send legitimate messages from an address within the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if its sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. If, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the email message won't be forwarded and it'll be discarded. In case you employ this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam which look as if they have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Website Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with only a couple of mouse-clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to enable it is to select one of your domains from a drop-down list and then type in the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be permitted to send emails from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the e-mail addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This option will give you the top degree of security, but it's not applicable in case only your site is on our servers while your e-mail addresses for the domain are taken care of elsewhere. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses protected from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection attribute is provided with all Linux semi-dedicated hosting, so when you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you will be able to activate this particular service effortlessly for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a very easy to work with interface, which means that you will not have to be proficient in the use of computers in order to secure your email addresses. You will simply need to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be certified to send emails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be activated for the domain that you have chosen. As a further option, we also allow you to limit the outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes further by permitting messages to be sent only when the domain involved has our MX records i.e. the emails for the domain name have to be handled on our end and not by a different supplier. Thus you will get even better control and there won't be a chance for any person to fake your e-mail addresses for harmful purposes.
